- 84% of Lily's subscribers are female so she, Gia and some youtubers want to stop girl-on-girl hate.
- In the video, Gia says "I think women are strong, beautiful, empowered goddesses" and we should "encourage one another and look at other girls as sisters and supporters instead of our competition."
- The "challenge" is to compliment any women you'd like on social media and include the hashtag #GirlLove, and to share the video because every dollar made on it will be given to the Malala Fund!
- Gia's compliment went out to one of her Paper Towns co-stars and close friends: "I want to shout out Margot Dupont. She's been acting for years and she is still such a hard worker and puts so much into every moment. She's also so honest and positive, which is truly infectious and inspiring."
She also posted an instagram about the campaign and a message on friendship.
Thank you so much to @iisuperwomanii for asking me to be part of the #GirlLove campaign. I feel like I can't even put into words what the women in my life mean to me, especially when this year has been extraordinarily giving to me in that area. I've made new friendships and grown existing ones to degrees I didn't think possible. The women I call friends have made me a better person and I know they will continue to help me improve every day... I know these posts are bound to get #squadgoals comments and I want you all to know that they should! Because love and support is exactly what your squad and friendships goals should be, not just the party pictures and glamorous moments. My friends aren't my friends because they're beautiful, they're my friends because they never judge me, they lift me up when I'm feeling down, and they believe I'm capable of doing anything I put my mind to, sometimes even more than I do. That's #GirlLove, and friendships like that should be everyone's goal. Surround yourself with people that inspire you in every aspect and work hard to return that support and love and inspiration to them so they're lucky enough to have a friend as good as you do.
That being said, it is incredibly hard to break ourselves from the ingrained misogyny we all have inside because of what we learned growing up. We have to stop letting the world and the media tell us only one woman can be on top and that we have to tear each other apart if we want to be that one. Fuck that narrative! We deserve far more than one seat at the table. The success of other women is success for all of us and paves the way for each of us to do bigger and better things. Let what other woman do motivate you, not turn you into a petty, sad person picking at their bodies or fashion or sexuality because those are the cheap and easy shots to make. We're all so much better than that!
She also adopted her first dog!!!
I would like to introduce Guacamole aka Guac aka G-Dog! I finally decided I can handle parenting a pet and found this adorable guy with the help of @bestfriendsanimalsociety. I met so many adorable and loving dogs that Guac will actually have a sibling in two or three weeks... Might as well dive headfirst into the whole parenting thing, right? The Stepp-Alvarez family gets bigger and better! 😍 🐶

people were saying that gia and scout were kind of aggressive and seemed to have it out for a couple players on the other team
